Founded in 1988, Innovox was born from the complementary expertise of three seasoned designers from the electronics technology world: Michel Ponton, from avionics and photonics (current president), Yves Lemieux, from analog and digital electronics (current VP of Technology), and Normand Girard, from robotic electronics (current VP of Manufacturing).
Over time, electronics, programming and mechanical engineers and technicians joined them to support the creation and manufacturing of innovative products for the exclusive benefit of entrepreneurs thriving in the digital revolution.
In the mid-1990s, the founders became acquainted with the new ISO 9001 standard and chose to adopt it to structure their high quality requirements.
In 2005, the company acquired the plant and staff of its main electronics board assembly service provider. Then, in 2006, to ensure the smooth and effective deployment of its new assembly facilities and engineering service, Innovox acquired a 2,400 m\u00b2 (25,000 sq. ft.) building in Montreal.
With these additions, it was then able to offer turnkey solutions tailored to each client's specific needs. Over the years, it developed various specialized software, specifically designed to ensure complete and precise management of its manufacturing activities. Through its fully digital management, it simultaneously achieved its paperless factory objective.
Innovox has periodically modernized its equipment base to keep pace with the marked reduction in electronic component sizes and increased integration density. Its most recent comprehensive upgrade, based on the latest generation technologies, dates from 2024.
